About Us

The Story of Redland

Redland was founded in 2008 by Chris Pangburn, Mike Pietschmann, and Fred Tafoya.

Their vision was to build a firm where employees and clients could thrive together — where long-term stability and opportunity for staff go hand-in-hand with consistent client service and excellence in delivery. By investing in people, they created a model that continues to guide Redland, strengthening every project.

Today, Redland is a premier Colorado-based firm specializing in land entitlement, infrastructure, and development, with multiple thriving practice areas serving top clients nationwide.

Our Mission: Through our commitments to excellence and shared values, we are dedicated to becoming trusted advisors to our clients, colleagues, and communities so together we thrive. — Redland Associates

Where Redland Got its Name: When early Spanish explorers first saw Colorado's red cliffs and rivers, they named the area for its color—Colorado, meaning "colored red." Redland draws from this landscape and heritage, carrying forward the sprit of discovery that inspires our work.

Our Leadership

Redland Foundation

Helping Children, Teens, and those in Need

Community involvement has always been central to who we are. Through the Redland Foundation — a 501(c)(3) nonprofit established in 2022 — employees extend our company’s values beyond project work, giving time and resources to help children, teens, and those in need. It’s how we carry Redland’s mission forward and make a difference in the community.
