Spooky Season Takes Over Redland!

Oct 31, 2022

Redland associates spent some time getting ready for Halloween this year with our annual Pumpkin Carving and Office Decorating contest! Safe to say the Redland staff is competitive, as we received some truly horrifyingly great entries.

The pumpkin carving contest featured a massive entry, weighing 86 lbs. Stiff competition came from other carvings, including a bigfoot carved pumpkin. In the end, only one vote separated 2nd place and the Champion, the winning carving was the “House Design” which featured a smaller pumpkin inside of the main pumpkin.

Our office decorating contest was split into “pods,” each pod was tasked with transforming their work space into a Halloween masterpiece. There was a trio of creepy entries that stood above the rest. Our engineering backgrounds certainly played a part, as these designs were intricate and terrifying. A Halloween balloon arch pod and heavily cobwebbed pod both had spooky details, however one pod ran away with the votes. 1st place was awarded to a “Stranger Things,” themed pod. The space featured numerous callbacks to the hit TV show, with the main effect being a portal to the “upside down.”

Redland wrapped up these contests with an all-treats and no-tricks lunch, where winners were announced during the festive meal. This is just one of our many company events that we at Redland use to celebrate not only the holiday, but each other as well. We look forward to what our associates will come up with next year.
