Run, Sleep(?), Repeat: Redland Runs Ragnar Snowmass

Jun 28, 2017

Does running almost 120 miles over 24 hours sound like a fun time?  Redland thinks so!  On a sunny June weekend, a team of 8 Redland associates met in Snowmass, Colorado to tackle the Ragnar Trail race.

The Ragnar Trail race is a long-distance, relay run – the Colorado race is held in Snowmass Village.  Our team set up a base camp and ran single-track trails up mountains into the Maroon Bells Wilderness.  Each Redland runner covered about 15 miles over three separate routes.  Our team started running on Friday afternoon and did not stop running until lunchtime on Saturday.

Health & wellness in the workplace is a priority at Redland; part of that culture includes sponsoring events throughout the year that encourage physical activity.

Team Redland rose to the challenge and completed the event in 20 hours, 38 minutes, and 29 seconds: earning a 2nd place finish among the corporate teams and 29th overall in a field of almost 250 teams.  Despite the sore legs/feet the following work day, our team had a great time camping and running together, and is looking forward to next year!
