Curbing Student Hunger: Redland Volunteers with Food For Thought

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]

This month, the associates at Redland took a break from our usual civil engineering and land planning services to lend a hand in our community.

Several times a year, Redland staff volunteer with local nonprofits.  This October, we visited the team at Food For Thought (FFT), a Denver nonprofit that strives to eliminate student hunger outside the classroom by providing weekend meals for children in low-income families; these meals, which FFT calls PowerSacks, provide the nutrition for a student beyond the school’s weekday-provided lunches.

The Redland volunteers arrived early and got to work packaging weekend meals.  Overall, we helped prepare PowerSacks for over 4,000 kids!

Our group had a great time working with the team at Food For Thought and are already planning a return trip!
