Boots on the Ground: Redland’s Spring Site Visit

May 08, 2018

This Spring, the Redland team got up from their desks and went to visit one of our latest projects.  To kick off 2018, we visited Sterling Ranch in Douglas County.

At Redland, it is important to see our projects through all phases of construction.  At Sterling Ranch, we were lucky enough to see progress in all stages.

We began in the Filing 4 area of the site, which we are currently designing.  We discussed the importance of walking a site before development and coordinating connections to existing infrastructure.  From there, we moved to the Sterling Gulch and Filing 2 portions of the site, which are under construction.  We discussed excavation activities, erosion control, and implementing design drawings to real-world construction.  Our last stop on site was the completed Providence Village, where we discussed inspection of completed work, home construction, and record drawings.

We are proud to have provided civil engineering and construction management services for these projects.  At Redland, it’s important for our associates to see and learn from both in-progress and completed projects.  It gives us a better understanding of the overall project goals, reliable design practices, and an appreciation for detail.  Ultimately, it expands our expertise so that we can continue to provide quality services to help our clients, colleagues, and communities succeed and thrive.
