Johnstown Filing 2 is located along the Little Thompson River just south of County Road 46 ½. Existing site conditions such as rail road alignment and gas line easement created site design challenges.
The design drivers focused on the “journey” through the neighborhood, creating an enhanced entry along open space and enhanced detention pond. Three small neighborhood pocket parks are located along the entry drive and are visible to the majority of residents.
Connecting the three pocket parks with a pedestrian trail corridor and on street walks provides for a variety of looping trail systems. A large open space buffer places future homes back from the existing Great Western Rail Road and allows for the placement of the required gas line easement.
