Redland Internship Class Completes 2025 Program

Sep 02, 2025

This Summer, Redland welcomed four new interns to take part in an internship program designed to provide a comprehensive and hands-on experience introduction to land development. The program walked each intern through the four core services Redland provides: Land Planning, Civil Engineering, Landscape Architecture, and Construction Management.

Taking what they had learned, each intern created their own development plan for a current Redland project. Crescence, a Craft Companies development, was the master-planned site the program revolved around. Each intern began their work by creating a conceptual site plan for Crescence which included site analysis, lot typicals, and municipal code research. The site plan was then brought into AutoCAD, where they received mentoring from civil engineer leaders to produce grading and utility plans. The group incorporated a neighborhood park with help from our Landscape Architecture team, as well as a cost estimate and build a construction schedule while working with our Construction Management team.

The final version of each project was presented to the Redland leadership team; all presentations were professionally done and showed the culmination of the interns’ hard work and technical knowledge gained. In addition, each intern produced their very own portfolio to permanently showcase their work and reference throughout their careers.

Throughout the Summer the group also experienced Redland’s culture through new and traditional events like site visits, the company picnic, a gameshow battle, a golf tournament, and Redland Foundation’s Cowboy After Hours fundraiser. Combining this eventful season with the creation of their personal projects our interns were always on the move.

This new internship program was so successful that one intern was even hired to a full-time entry-level position as a Land Planner. At Redland we strive to create opportunity for associates and explore new ways to incorporate training and mentoring, this program allowed our interns to learn more than a traditional internship, and it encouraged our younger leaders to assist them along the way. We are thrilled to bring back our program next Summer and will continue to deliver an internship experience that is educational, exploratory, and fun.
