Barefoot Lakes: Constructing a Community for Colorado

May 24, 2018

North of Denver, another Redland project is taking shape as construction at Barefoot Lakes continues to progress.

Located roughly midway between downtown Denver, Fort Collins, and Boulder in the town of Firestone, Barefoot Lakes is part of a 1,300 acre master-planned community that will treat residents to roughly 350 acres of park space, including 100 acres of lakes and water features along St. Vrain Creek.  With such great access to trails and recreation opportunities, it has been touted as a community built specifically for the Colorado-outdoors lifestyle.

Construction of the first filing of 293 lots is complete, and the neighborhood is taking shape as homes are completed.  Work is already underway on Filing 2 and 3, which will add 307 lots to the community.  Homebuyers can expect to see three of Colorado’s leading builders at Barefoot Lakes: Brookfield Residential, CalAtlantic Homes, and Richmond American Homes.  Lot delivery for Filings 2 and 3 is anticipated to begin in the summer, and continue into 2019.

Additionally, paving of trails is complete in the 12-acre “Peninsula Park”, which extends into one of the community’s lakes.  Landscape features are currently being installed.

Redland has helped create this great community by collaborating with the owner, Brookfield Residential, the project planner, Design Workshop,  as well as other project stakeholders and local municipalities.  We are proud to be providing civil engineering and entitlement services for this project.
